Running for a cause, and donuts
It may not be a Hilliard Hot Spot, but it is nearby down on Lane Avenue: an opportunity to run for donuts and coffee.
Donuts? Coffee? Just for running? That's right. On October 30, the third annual Joan's Donut Run started at 9:00 a.m. The run was a 5k for Joan's Foundation of Neck and Head Cancer. At each kilometer, you received a donut and at the finish line people were congratulated with half a dozen of donuts and Starbucks coffee. Each participant received a limited edition Columbus Donut Run tri-blend t-shirt. This run is the original 5k that pays homage to the donut.
New this year, Joan's Foundation was proud to be one of top five featured races in the James 5k race series. The Columbus Donut Run had no paid employees, to ensure all funds are allocated either to head and neck cancer research or the operations of the Joan's Foundation. Consider joining the Donut Run in the future to support a great cause and have fun!
